Hey there, Alfonso! Tell us about yourself?

Hi everyone, my name is Alfonso Piñeiro Pérez and I’m 42 years old. I was born and grew up in Madrid and just started working at a Hot Desk in Plaça Catalunya.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time and why?

My main hobbies are dancing salsa, playing piano and guitar, enjoying foods & wines, and continuous performing.

Salsa dancing is a more “recent acquisition” since 2010 more or less. I’m not professional, but good enough for showing off. Maybe we could have some salsa classes for the community once per week? Why not?

I am in a relationship with the piano and guitar! I’m an amateur musician, I have been playing guitar since I was 15 years old and I played keyboard during my childhood, and now I do again since I bought my  Casio CP-130 three months ago, which I’m in love with.

I am also absolutely devoted to tasting food and red wine. I am passionate about Catalan wines like Priorat, Montsant, Penedès or Empordà, but also Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Jerez, Bourdeaux, Italia

Finally, I am a performer wherever I have the opportunity to do so. I have: zero fear of being on stage and 100% love to entertain an audience.

… and professionally? What do you do?

I do several jobs at once, but I’ll tell you seven. I am a business consultant, marketing strategist, digital enthusiast, speaker & trainer, PPTs & copies freak, creative & disruptive, a former journalist. Perhaps I’ll give you one to get the whole meaning: Sherpa.

I also co-own two companies: Numerik, the one which I’m registered with at OneCowork, where I am a Digital Commercial Management, and the other is SocialBrains, where I am devoted to social media intelligence.

Did you immediately find your dream job, or what did your journey to finding your career looked like?

It’s like the U2 song, “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.”

And believe it or not, I’ve come along loads of wonderful things I didn’t even realize they could be so great. To be more specific, I try to reinvent myself every single step, and nowadays my career is nothing but an opportunity to help people in their business. I say, “tell me where do you wanna go, let’s find the best path together.”

Where is your favourite place to hang out in OneCoWork?

Without a doubt… The rooftop terrace!! But I’m just starting here, so it’s still hard to tell. I think I’ll usually be at hot desk areas, if not I’m probably out there making business. So in the case that you don’t find me around the office, contact me via social media, via phone, via whatever, I’ll be glad to keep in touch.

How do we get in contact with you?

On social media, you can find me on LinkedIn, or @alfonsopineiro for Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

I am still working on my own, so stay tuned. It’s hard to say when it will be ready, but in my defense, I have started and updated four or five personal blogs during last 20 years, and all of them are closed right now.

And for “the business things” among others,  www.numerik.es and the very recent www.thedigitalcoupage.es

Give 3 tips to our readers!

  1. If you don’t have time for dancing, singing, laughing, making love, playing like a kid and helping people, then think twice about the meaning of time.

  1. As my partner, namesake and above all friend Alfonso Ezquerro says, “living well is the best revenge.” I know it’s from REM, but I prefer to award him.

  1. Do what I say, not what I do.

Bonus: Do you think it’s expensive? Wait for the expensiveness of doing nothing!

If you were a _____ What would you be?

  • Animal: I imagine a cat but everyone else tells me a dog. I mean, I prefer to seem lovely, wild and independent, but my beloved ones judge me as a kind and intelligent one.

  • Famous leader: good question… I’ll be answering this one when I am famous hahaha.

  • Country: Switzerland or Costa Rica because they have no armies. Any Caribbean country just to dance. But in reality… any Mediterranean place. My friend and songwriter Lucas Álvarez de Toledo sings: “I am latin / the whole street can see / of the sun I depend for the life / of the sun I depend, do you understand? / I am latin / from the south of an overheated world / that's why they say that I'm toasty / and I always start to burn through my lips / that's why I sing with all my soul / with all the soul which I sing with”. Well, that’s me.

  • Drink/cocktail: think about the drink that blows your mind away. OK, I want to be at least twice that drink.

Tell us a joke!

A guy is walking down the street, totally drunk. He looks at some girls and he asks: “eszgusme laidddisszzz, aaaiuuu dwin dzizstersz or izit ddad I’m dodal-ly blotto” (Excuse me, ladies, are you twin sisters or is it that I’m totally blotto?). The girls answer: “Yes, sir, we’re twins”. And the guy says: “wodaffff, the fooouuurrrr ?” HAHAHAHA

Who inspires you?

People with a sense of humor, people who want to change the world, people who make things happen, people who write like if they’re touched by gods.

What is your motto?

Busy in being free.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?

The day my parents decided to conceive me ;-)

Material goods: maybe my flamenco guitar, my MDR1000 headphones or my very recent piano.

Book recommendation

Only one ?!?!?!?!?! OMG.

Well, in this case, its crystal clear: Dead Poets Society. One professor told me years ago: “Poetry is the superior form of knowledge. Anything else is a vulgar imitation.”
