Stop, Think, Recycle!

You may have seen our latest blog on Eco-anxiety, we have to admit that the environment has been on our minds a lot recently. The Positive Impact Committee here at OneCoWork has been focusing on what we can do to help on a larger scale, and we are so excited to finally see The Green Plan in action! If you haven’t heard about it, we have pledged to plant 10,000 trees by December 2020 in partnership with Forest Nation in order to increase CO2 Sequestration and creation of O2 whilst also increasing local labour opportunities in the Usambara Mountain region,Tanzania, where the project is taking place. Ask the Community Team for more information on how you can update your plan.

What are we going to do about it?

However, we know it is also important to make sure we are having a positive environmental impact within our spaces if we want to complete a bigger, greener picture. At a local level, we want the OneCoWork community to be role models of an eco-friendly work space, and where better to start than with a recycling campaign! Recycling is an action that may seem insignificant on a personal level but we are a community at OneCoWork. By recycling, we reduce the need for extracting and processing raw materials and have the opportunity to tackle climate change by saving energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, it introduces the mentality into our spaces that reusing materials creates innovation, something we could all apply to our work!

Every act of recycling helps so we are proud to have partnered with Fondación Seur to recycle bottle caps. Their bottle cap collection campaign has raised over €1 million for those less fortunate, whilst reducing almost 8000 tonnes of carbon emissions. We can’t wait to contribute.

How can you be responsible for your waste?

We have introduced a recycling system that ensures it is an effortless process, because being eco-friendly shouldn’t be a chore. Below the different recycling points and collections around the spaces are outlined, so you can be a proud part of our green community.

Thanks for helping and remember, if in doubt don’t throw it out!
